Reviews ???
Kind of concerned as I have been reading several reviews and joined a Facebook group as well and there are several complaints about the Rogue, especially the newer ones. Everything from engines needing replacement, to transmissions going out, stalling out on roadways and a lot of glass issues with major breakage and shattering for no apparent reasons. Everyone keeps reporting that they informed their dealerships as to rear window shattering and just getting the reply that its not an issue.
Others have reported driver side door windows cracking, and even some sunroofs shattering. Everyone leans toward a cabin pressure issue as the cause but Nissan denies any fault or liability which is Bullshit at best. When you try and contact them with these issues they just tell you to call corporate to expedite the complaint/resolutions.. What is the point of having a warranty if its not going to be honored and rectify the issues.
Most of the newer versions of the Rogue, say '21 and up, these issues manage to crop up around the 5000 mile mark as its been reported anyway. There are those that survive and go unscathed as well, I just hope that the two we own are in that category as this was one of the main reasons we bought them to begin with. We were so sick of repairs and trying to keep a vehicle on the road.
🚙 Sensors (continued)
This is what I had been looking at for a couple days.. I thought it might be due to a dirty sensor cover/lens somewhere on the car, so I cleaned and wiped down all the sensors I could see/find. Nope.. still there just warning me my driving aids where temporarily limited..
I decided to move my vanity plate from the lower front bumper to a higher spot on the grill and viola.. sensors reading normal.. Apparently there is one somewhere down low on the front that I didn't know about maybe.. whatever the cause, they are cleared now so that is just my assumption.
🚙 Clean out time..
Today Deb had a work at home day and did telehealth all day. So I decided it would be a good chance for me to clean out her car. The previous owner has two yellow labs with long hair and ya, it was all over the back area of the car along with some spilled formula, or at least that's what I assume it was..
So it got cleaned along with the rest of the car interior. Got to admit I did not think that there was as much hair and dirt as there was after looking at the vacuum.. dang I could have made another dog out of all that.. lol.
I couldn't stop there either, so I figured I would just go ahead and do mine as well. and of course as soon as I was done washing the cars, it decided to pour cats and dogs splashing dirt and fresh grass cuttings all over the damn things. So now I need to do another rinse tomorrow.. oh well, gives me something to do I guess. At least the interiors look like new again. All I know was it was way to humid today to be doing that kind of work out in the driveway, think I managed to shed a couple pounds myself.. I was as wet as the cars from sweat.
Got me to thinking though.. yesterday, I took Nikki to her Dr. Appt. and across the street was an automated car wash.. I counted no less that 100 cars in a period of about hour. They were running through there like every 2-3 minutes. Imagine if only charging say $10.00 per wash.. that place was making a killing, as I know they charge more than that now days.. Were talking well over $1000/hr.. I think I need to go into business somewhere around here...lol. Apparently, folks don't like driving their vehicles dirty or dusty down here.. which I am surprised considering we get rain/ downpours on the daily anyway..!
🚙 R2 as a wallpaper
Decided to make an R2 wallpaper for my phone..lol. Conceded, maybe.. but I like uniformity among my items...lol. I think it looks great as a wallpaper.. and it blends well on the cars interior and where it is placed in the car.
Yah, I do stupid stuff like this when I am bored.. but hey its better than many alternatives in life..
🚙 What's under the hood??
My 2025 Nissan Rogue is equipped with a 1.5-liter, three-cylinder, turbocharged engine that delivers 201 horsepower and 225 lb-ft of torque. Not very strong out of the gate, but is a nice smooth ride and acceleration when pushed. Definitely wont win any Nascar races, but is more than enough to get the job done and with some great fuel economy to boot.
🚙 Sensors
All of a sudden I had these warning lights come on.. WTH.. lol. come to find out theses are associated with crash detection sensors.. Apparently dirt, sun, water, and several other things can obstruct the sensor and they will automatically cut off. Phew! was a slight panic mode.. This car continues to surprise me everyday.
Result, I am going to attempt to clean the front and rear sensors and see if that clears up the issue. Stay tuned..
🚙 All betterish now..
Managed to finally get the tire replaced from Fisher Nissan.. all brand new, no charge thanks to our warranty otherwise that would have been a $300+ tire right there. Although before getting it done I did put approx. 100 miles on my spare doughnut that came with the car.. so hopefully it will still be good should I need it again. Other than the service centers communication gap, I am still very pleased with Fisher and the whole process of obtaining the car. Here's hoping that relationship continues.
🚙 Slightly irritated..
Down one tire already. Two weeks to the day, left my sons house in Rockledge, and had to put air in tire 3 times just to drive 5 miles. Stopped at the local Nissan dealership which is just down the road from our house, found out that there was a tiny puncture about the size of a nail that penetrated the sidewall so it was just loosing it as fast as it was filled. Damn dealership wanted $330.00+/- for one tire and mount/balance. Damn near choked on that one..
Lets see here...
car is only two weeks old, just hit the 500 mile mark when approaching the dealership, and they want to charge me 330 for a f'in tire.. Not only that, I arrived before they closed and was told to put the spare on and come back tomorrow or Monday.. EXCUSE ME>> how about you do your fuckin job..!
They did remove the tire, and put my spare on the car and figured I would just come back at a more convenient time.. NOT.. I do not like this local dealership at all as they pulled the same BS on our daughter-in-law about a week ago.
So I just came home, called Fisher Nissan were I bought the car, told them what happened.. they said its covered under our A1 warranty for tires and wheels.. Relief..
They simply said just stop in when I can and that they will take care of it and get me on the road again.
Unfortunately it was closing time for their service department when I called and said I would be there Monday morning, no appointment needed, just pop in.
Customer service and people differ so much between dealerships. I will not be using Erdman which is extremely convenient to us, as its less than a mile down the road.. instead I will travel up to Titusville where the car was purchased.. Their professionalism is well worth the drive and satisfaction.
Just kind of bummed that it only took two weeks for the first oopsie... We will see what they say Monday AM as it was a puncture and might consider it as roadside hazard.. I'm hoping that they just replace it and call it good as the payment for this so called warranty cost me $799.. It would be really nice to actually catch a break for once.!
🚙 Holy Crap..lol
I was sitting at the emergency room waiting for my son in law during his appointment, and my car jumped the shit out of me..It started talking to me out of no-where.. Now this I did not expect..lol. Would love to have seen the look on my face.
Apparently in my Bluetooth mode, it doesn't just read and send messages it also can and does state them in words. Jumped the hell out of me when it did that as I was unaware of that capability. Learning something new every time I drive it seems. But Lordy that jumped me.. don't get me wrong I love that feature..
The dealership on the other hand is starting to annoy me a little. I have had the car now for a week as of today, and they have yet to come and get the Focus that was traded in. It still sitting out front of the house on the street with no plates, and seeing as I no longer own it, I have considered calling a tow company just to be rid of it. There were suppose to take it a week ago, then Monday rolled around and no word from them, nothing until today, they finally messaged Deb and said they were getting it today... well here it is after 6pm, and its still sitting there... 'Gunna give them 1 more day then I will get rid of it..
Unfortunately when I returned the Jeep I also had to surrender my Veterans Plate here in the state of Florida. Kind of sucks, but with the Rogue I ended up swapping the plate from the Focus as it was the vehicle used for the trade in.
I kept the plate frame though so its not a total loss..It now covers the Rogue plate, its just not the actual Veteran Tag from the state.
No worries though, once this plate expires I will re- register the Rogue and get a Veteran plate once again. In the mean time I did manage to to find my Veteran Edition side emblems, and they promptly went onto the Rogue..

Figured out Android Auto.
Sort of, kind of anyway..lol
Navigating the different menus and the system was a challenge to figure out. Pairing was the easiest to do.
So now I have my phone, maps, messages, music, etc all at my fingertips on the steering wheel or the main screen.
It'll take a little time but I will get proficient at it within a few days.
1 Dislike thus far:
Apparently the vehicle has several sensors that I have never had or dealt with before..ie: lane assist.. I was ready to call the dealership and bitch that there was an issue with the steering on occasion..come to find out its a sensor that vibrates the steering wheel if you begin to go out of your lane..its almost like hitting a rumble strip. Its not loud or obnoxious but kind of subtle but will get your attention.
That is just one of the many sensors within the vehicle. Another thing I need to get use to is there is this thing called Driving Assist..!
Nissan Rogue SV. tutorial
Pleasant surprise..
R2 comes with 4 USB ports, 2 front and 2 rear.. I opened the glove-box to find the owners manual and warranty booklets, etc and low and behold this was also in the glove-box. 4 Brand new USB-c charging cords in a nice leather covered zip box. That was a nice surprise.

Purchased : r2
Just purchased this brand new 2025 Nissan Rogue, SV. 02 August 2025. Dubbed: R2 as Deb also is now an owner of a 2021 Nissan Rogue dubbed D2.
Comes to me with just 25 miles on the odometer. We purchased it from Fisher Nissan out of Titusville,Fl.
What a nice vehicle this is..
It is the base model but still has a ton of features that put this vehicle in a class of its own in my opinion.
The whole process of getting this vehicle financed was a fairly straight forward one. Had a piece of junk that was used as a trade and I might add I got a ridiculously good offer for it that I did not expect. Let's just say it was more than $3000 and I was expecting maybe scrap metal pricing..lol. But I am not 'gunna look a gifted house in the mouth.
It is such a smooth, quiet ride that is comfortable in all aspects.. button and knob placements are convenient and plentiful it is laid out almost like sitting in a cockpit of sorts. Incredible amount of space tucked into this medium sized SUV. Has most interior options available with the exception of the sun/moon roof.
This blog will be used for my personal reasons and records of my adventures, issues, and experiences with owning this vehicle.
